One year to go: How to prepare for the NIS 2.0 directive on cybersecurity?
FEDIL is delighted to invite you to the conference “One year to go: How to prepare for the NIS 2.0 directive on cybersecurity?” to be held on 17 October 2023 at 14:00.
The NIS 2.0 directive operates a real paradigm shift in terms of cybersecurity aiming at ensuring a high common level of cybersecurity of networks and information systems across Europe, and to strengthen the resilience of the European Union’s IT infrastructures against cyberattacks.
The NIS 2.0 directive expands its objectives and scope of applicability to provide even stronger protection. This extension of the NIS 2.0 directive’s scope is unprecedented in cyber regulation. It imposes heightened security standards onto companies, as well as substantially broadens the number of sectors covered in the first version, significantly increasing the number of entities affected by it.
Check if your organization falls within the scope of the directive HERE.
By 17 October 2024, organizations, defined and classified as “Essential Entities” (EEs) or “Important Entities” (IEs), will have to implement an efficient cybersecurity policy and take appropriate and proportionate technical, operational and organizational measures to manage the risks posed to the security of network and information systems which those entities use for their operations or for the provision of their services, and to prevent or minimize the impact of incidents on recipients of their services and on other service, among others.
Concerned organizations must now take the necessary steps towards compliance.
This conference will give you the opportunity to understand what is at stake for your organization, which compliance framework to implement, what requirements you must meet, and what the sanctions are if you don’t comply. The competent authorities will also share their approach to supervision.
