{"id":7597,"date":"2018-02-06T16:30:31","date_gmt":"2018-02-06T15:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fedil.lu\/?post_type=member-news&#038;p=7597"},"modified":"2018-02-06T09:34:51","modified_gmt":"2018-02-06T08:34:51","slug":"the-lean-green-awards-2018","status":"publish","type":"member-news","link":"https:\/\/fedil.lu\/de\/member-news\/the-lean-green-awards-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"The LEAN &#038; GREEN awards 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>The LEAN &amp; GREEN labelled sustainable logistics community grows to 11 in Luxembourg<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the 2017 edition, thirteen companies including three companies based in Luxembourg received the LEAN &amp; GREEN Label during the first Benelux congress organised in Brussels with support from the Benelux Secretariat on February 6<sup>th<\/sup> 2018. More than 500 companies across Europe have won the label since its creation in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The new companies from Luxembourg awarded were<strong> Luxport Group, Kronospan and Webtaxi<\/strong> for their action plans which will reduce their ecological footprint while saving costs. To obtain the Lean &amp; Green Award, companies must present an <strong>ambitious CO<sub>2<\/sub> reduction plan<\/strong>: logistics companies should be able to save at least 20% and airlines should reduce their emissions by 10% over five years and show commitment to the program.<\/p>\n<p>The Award ceremony, supported by the Benelux Secretariat in Brussels, brought together the Dutch foundation Connekt, the Luxembourg Cluster for Logistics (C4L), the Logistics in Wallonia organization and the VIL for Flanders, all having participants being certified to encourage sustainable development. The awards have been handed by the Secretary of State for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure M. Camille Gira and M. Fran\u00e7ois Bellot, Federal Minister for Mobility and Transport in Belgium, in presence of M. Nico Anten, Head of Connekt.<\/p>\n<p>For Mr. Gira, \u201ethe Lean &amp; Green Label will play an increasingly important role in helping to meet COP 21 Paris goals of reduced CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions through 2030. Over the lifetime of the LEAN &amp; GREEN program, the savings of all 11 companies will be a significative contribution to the Government\u2019s ambitious CO<sub>2<\/sub> emission goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Based upon the action plans that the companies elaborated and which have been subject to an independent audit in 2017, the three new award winners have 5 years after the selected reference year to achieve their ambitious goals and win the LEAN &amp; GREEN STAR.
