{"id":5414,"date":"2017-10-23T14:39:41","date_gmt":"2017-10-23T12:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fedil.lu\/member-news\/fiec-joins-campaign-more-eu-budget-for-transport\/"},"modified":"2017-10-24T09:59:06","modified_gmt":"2017-10-24T07:59:06","slug":"fiec-joins-campaign-more-eu-budget-for-transport","status":"publish","type":"member-news","link":"https:\/\/fedil.lu\/en\/member-news\/fiec-joins-campaign-more-eu-budget-for-transport\/","title":{"rendered":"FIEC joins campaign &#8220;More EU budget for transport&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 id='s-fiec-joins-campaign-more-eu-budget-for-transport-the-best-investment-plan-for-europe'>FIEC joins campaign &#8220;More EU budget for transport \u2013 the best Investment Plan for Europe&#8221;<\/h1>\n<p><strong>The European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) officially joined the coalition of stakeholders promoting a stronger budget for transport for after 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Together with a number of other organisations involved in transport matters, FIEC believes that investing in transport, and in particular in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), is crucial for Europe\u2019s growth and jobs,&#8221;\u00a0 stressed FIEC President Jean-Louis Marchand. &#8220;This is why we advocate for a stronger budget for the Connecting Europe Facility for after 2020, with grants remaining the major component,&#8221; added Marchand.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, FIEC considers that there are a number of transport infrastructure projects which are vital for EU\u2019s competitiveness but do not generate the necessary return on investment in order to attract private investors.
