Düdelingen, 15. Dezember 2020 – Stena Line, LKW WALTER, Rostock Port und CFL Multimodal verkünden mit Stolz den Start einer neuen Zugverbindung zwischen dem intermodalen Terminal Bettemburg-Düdelingen und dem RTM-Terminal im Rostock Port ab 11. Januar 2021.
Stena Line, LKW WALTER, Rostock Port und CFL multimodal schließen damit erfolgreich eine Vereinbarung zur Erweiterung des bestehenden Leistungsangebots ab. Diese neue intermodale Verbindung wird mit 3 Hin- und Rückfahrten pro Woche betrieben und transportiert kranbare und nicht-kranbare Sattelauflieger sowie Container.
Die Geschäftspartner sind überzeugt, dass dieser regelmäßige intermodale Service, der die bestehenden Eisenbahnkorridore (Lyon, Le Boulou) via Luxemburg mit dem Hafen von Rostock und seinen Fährlinien nach Trelleborg verbindet, ein weiterer wichtiger Schritt für die Weiterentwicklung eines globalen, europäischen Netzwerks von kombinierten Schienen- und Fährlösungen ist.
Dieser neue Zug wird auch eine signifikante Verkehrsverlagerung ermöglichen, indem umgerechnet 10.000 Lkw von der Straße auf die Schiene übertragen und CO2-Einsparungen von etwa 18.000 tCO2 pro Jahr erzielt werden.

Wir sehen ein großes Potenzial in beide Richtungen mit Industrieprodukten wie Holz, Papier und Stahl aus dem Norden und frischen Lebensmitteln wie Obst und Gemüse sowie Konsumgütern aus dem Süden “, sagt Fredrik Johansson, Sales & Business Development Manager für Versandlogistik bei Stena Line Group.

About ROSTOCK PORT
ROSTOCK PORT is the landlord of Germany’s biggest Baltic seaport and operator of the ferry and ro/ro-terminal. The ferry and ro/ro-traffic contribute to approximately 60% of the port’s total cargo volume. In 2019 about 530.000 freight units passed through the port on ferries and ro-ro vessels mainly to and from Denmark (Gedser), Sweden (Trelleborg), Finland (Hanko, Helsinki, Kotka, Rauma) and Lithuania (Klaipeda). A container shuttle between Rostock and Kaliningrad (Russia) completes the liner network.
