Gaston Trauffler is in charge of projects and political actions related to supervising industrial investments and activities to help strengthening the competitiveness of industry. Gaston has more than 15 years of experience in industrial policy. Before joining FEDIL, between 2010 and 2018, he held different leading positions with Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation. He has also worked for several years in Tokyo as an industrial analyst targeting foreign direct investments and as a consultant in Zurich helping Swiss, Austrian and German technology based companies to working on strategy, management and innovation related subjects.
Gaston holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, a master’s degree in commercial engineering and industrial management with a specialization in biocompatible materials science, and a doctorate in strategic industrial management from ETH Zurich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Gaston speaks German, English, French, Luxembourgish and Japanese.
